The Captain of the Nigeria’s men’s basketball team D’Tigers, Ike Diogu has expressed huge disappointment with the poor results gotten earned at the Commonwealth Games.

D’Tigers lost all their four matches at the Gold Coast in Australia and Diogu admitted that the embarrassing show left them unhappy.

New Zealand, Canada and Australia beat Nigeria in the group stage.

The life line given to the team to also have the opportunity to feature in the semi-finals was also bungled as they lost to Scotland to end their participation in the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Games.

“It was a tough tournament for everyone on the team, losing all the games was not expected but we have seen a lot and also learnt from that,” the D’Tigers captain told the media in Australia.

“The guys were not happy because we knew the expectation back home and I can only say we learnt from that and will do better in future.”

Diogu, however, said he has shifted his focus to help Nigeria qualify for the World Cup.

“We had a great tournament in Mali, I mean the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, and we are hoping to continue from where we stopped by ensuring we qualify for the tournament,” he added.
