it is looking up nicely for Team Nigeria in the Men's Table Tennis Singles' event at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia as Aruna Quadri is a step closer to winning a medal having booked his place in style in the quarter final.

Qualification for the quarter final ahead of Singapore's Xue Jie Pang was by no means easy for Aruna who is Nigeria's highest ranked player.

Aruna in the final set came from 6 points down 2-8 to force a 12-10 win in the 5th game to close out the match 4-1 (11-5, 8-11,11-3,11-3,12-10).

That was a pretty special win for the Nigerian who made it as far as the quarter finals also at the last Olympic Games in Rio.
