Team Nigeria have taken a big leap on the medals' table at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia having been boosted with three gold medals and two silver medals from the Paralifting event.

Team Nigeria was nowhere to be found on the medals' table four days into action before coming on board with two silver medals on Monday.

The country however took a massive leap on Tuesday with the fantastic, albeit predictable, performance from the powerlifters.

Roland Ezuruike took the gold in the Men’s Lightweight with 224.3 points while his compatriot; Paul Kehinde took the silver medal with 219.9 points.

In the Women’s Lightweight,  Esther Oyema lifted 141.6kg to set a new world record in her class, while Captain fantastic, Lucy Ejike settled for silver with a lift of 134kg at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Also, Ndidi Nwosu gave Nigeria her third gold medal in the women’s heavyweight lifting 120kg.

Nwosu polled 110.4 points for Nigeria’s third gold medal.

On the medal’s table at the time of this report, Nigeria is in 10th position with three gold medals and four silver medals.
