Lecturers who force students to have sex with them for marks are gradually coming under the hammer, as students are now having the guts to speak out and cry for help.

Dr. John Egbo of the Department of Educational Foundation, Ebonyi State University (EBSU) and Mr. Chinedu Onwe were found guilty of sexually harassing female students.

Egbo, who was said to have sexually harassed one Miss Peace in the institution, and has been shown the way out of the university.

Bounce News learnt that Chinedu Onwe had been on suspension for offences ranging from alteration of students’ results, extortion of money and sexual harassment of female students.

But after investigation by the university, he was found to be guilty as charged, and was subsequently dismissed.

Public Relations Officer of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Mr. Patrick Itumo, who disclosed this, said one Ubochi Joseph was dismissed for alleged embezzlement of school fees.

He disclosed that the University has terminated the appointments of two lecturers and one non-tutorial staff for gross misconduct.

“Dr. John Egbo of Educational Foundation was shown the way out for sexual harassment of female students, especially the most pronounced incident involving one Miss Peace.

“Chinedu Onwe of History and International Department had been on suspension for offences ranging from alteration of students’ scores, extortion of money and sexual harassment of female students.

“He has lost his appointment, as the university management, through investigative committee, found him guilty as charged.

“One of the defaulting staff, Ubochi Joseph was dismissed for alleged embezzlement of school fees collected from students, and forgery of receipts,” he told Bounce News.

Mr. Itumo expressed readiness of the management of Ebonyi State University to rid the Ivory Tower of all anti educational vices found among lecturers, students and non-tutorial staff.
