17-Year-Old Apprentice In Court Over Alleged Rape
Godspower Adarugbe invited his friends to his room on July 15 and lured in his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter.
They allegedly gang-raped the girl and afterwards, all left the house to an unknown place.
“All efforts to see them failed until the accused was sighted and apprehended by the girl’s brother.
“The case was reported at the police station,” Sgt. Raphael Donny said.
He led the accused in trial before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The accused, a 17-year-old apprentice, who resides at Agbole Compound, Igando, a suburb of Lagos, is facing two counts charge of conspiracy and rape.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Folakemi Davies-Abegunde granted a bail of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum to the accused.
Davies-Abegunde adjourned the case until August 28 for mention.
