Several Nigerian youths have lost their lives to the nefarious activities of secret cults in Edo State.

No fewer than 16 students of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma have so far been beheaded during violent cult clashes between various groups in the state.

The students were beheaded during clashes among cult groups over the last three weeks.

The Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu made the disclosure on Wednesday on the successes of the command during this period.

Gwandu stated that 17 suspected cultists with assorted arms have been arrested while some others are being questioned.

He lamented that some suspected cultists who were arrested by the command and undergoing trial were seen outside prison mobilising to cause more havoc with the school's premises.

Gwandu called on parents and guardians to be on guard and educate the people on the need to shun cultism because the command will not rest until Edo is rid of any form of crime.
